It looks as if the androgynous dressing trend is set to continue well into 2009. For many designers at New York Fashion Week this year, it was all about exaggerated jackets paired with slouchy trousers and was certainly a case of those ‘Who do girls like they’re boys‘. Well in truth, Dolly is far too much a girly girl to pull off the gender neutral look in a big way, but I wanted to demonstrate in this post how it’s possible to embrace the trend by introducing elements of it into our virtual wardrobes. A big thank you to my dear friend and brilliant RL and SL architect, Lake Impfondo, for allowing me to shoot the photos for this piece at his new and jaw-dropping testosterone-loaded bachelor pad.
Bliensen + Maitai does it again with this fabulous little tie. This is the ladies’ version but there are mens’ styles available too.
The detailing on the pin is really beautiful and it’s scripted so you can choose from gold or silver options to coordinate with your outfit. Not only that, but the tie comes in 3 wear options… round the neck, under the collar and knot only; 2 lengths… short and long; and in 7 colours!
As with everything Plurabelle Laszlo does for the Bliensen + Maitai label, these are quirky with a capital ‘Q’. All her work is just that little bit different and I love it! Click here to visit the main store.

When Dick Wiesel, designer of the WoE label, dropped these jeans on me, I told him they were the best thing since sliced bread and I meant it! You’ll know how amazing his jeans’ textures are if you’ve ever owned a pair, but this boyfriend cut for girls is one I’ve never seen in Second Life before. They are incredibly cute and as with all Dick’s jeans, I challenge you to find any other pair that will make your avi’s toosh look better!
As well as jeans, Dick makes a great range of casual clothing. Click here to visit WoE’s main store.

If you try wearing some of the items featured today together in their default attachment positions, it won’t be possible 😦 One item will replace another as some are set to attach in the same place on your avatar. To overcome this problem, right click the item in your inventory, select ‘Attach To >’, and choose an alternative ‘free’ attachment point. You’ll have to edit the item’s position to fit after doing this so it’s essential to make a copy first! This is a trial and error process as some points work better than others for certain prim items.
